The History of Taiwan Golden Bee and the Success of TGB ATV's

TGB Engine is a leading manufacturer of motor vehicles, combustion engines and variable speed variators. The TGB Group produces high-quality commercial and high-quality scooters, distributed through its official importers almost all over the World - just like us here at Dualways! Quads and TGB scooters have gained a very good reputation thanks to their thoughtful design and renowned reliability while maintaining a favorable purchase price. TGB quads have repeatedly won the title of 'Quad Bike of the Year' in several countries and TGB has been named as one of the best-selling four-wheeler brands in countries such as France. TGB works with many of the World's leading manufacturers of two and four-wheeled vehicles, of which they produce variators and parts for.

The Timeline of TGB

  • 1965 - In 1965, CF Chang founded Taiwan Vespa Company Ltd. for the production of Vespa licensed scooters within the Taiwanese market. The new company also produced parts and components for the largest Italian scooter manufacturer, Piaggio.

  • 1978 - The founder of Taiwan Vespa Company Ltd, Mr. CF Chang, establishes Taiwan Golden Bee Co. Ltd (TGB). The company becomes the successor of the Taiwan Vespa Company and takes over the Piaggio production program for the Taiwanese market as well as the production of parts & components for the Italian parent company. At the same time, TGB begins with the development and production of scooters of its own design. They had been focused exclusively on export sales from the outset, especially within the European market, however, they soon began to sell successfully throughout the World.

  • 1980-1989 - TGB continues to extend their production of their own scooters, and continues to produce spare parts for the Italian client Piaggio, of which they exclusively produce electric starters, frames, suspensions, plastic parts and many other components. In 1980, TGB decide to further expand its activities and begin manufacturing (and later developing) variator gearboxes of various types - this decision was made as almost all scooters manufactured in Taiwan at this time were imported from Japan. Today, TGB is one of the largest variator manufacturers in the World.

  • 1990 - TGB manufactures variators for most of Taiwan's production now, and is gradually becoming the lead supplier of automatic gearboxes for many of the World's top manufacturers of scooters, quads, and snowmobiles. Today, the TGB variators work reliably in scooters, quads, and motorcycles in top-brand products by leading manufacturers such as Polaris, Aprilia, Piaggio, BMW, Vespa, Rotax, Peugeot, Motori Minarelli, Motori Morini, SYM and many more. In their own machines, TGB produces two-stroke 50cc engines and four-stroke engines of 125cc to 550cc. More than 50 developers work in their own development and research center.

  • 1995 - The ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certificates open TGB's doors for further sales channel expansion. Thanks to their low prices, quality workmanship, sleek designs and the renowned reliability of TGB scooters and ATV's, the brand has established itself well in the European market. The high reliability and affordability of TGB products have paved the way for business success, which still continues today.

  • 2003  - For over 25 years, TGB has been successfully developing and manufacturing automatic transmissions and other components for the World's, and Taiwan's, scooters and quad bike manufacturers.

  • 2004 - In 2004, the company makes a strategic decision to develop a quad of its own construction, with the aim of conquering not the Taiwanese market this time, but the European and World markets. The TGB Blade is about to come on the market! And in true form, the Blade 400 became very popular on the European Market as TGB succeeded in combining high quality, sophisticated designs, and reasonable pricing.

  • 2006  - The TGB RS303 50 scooter becomes the first scooter in the world to perform the first scooter backflip. Rode by Matt Shubring, a stuntman and Australian freestyle motocross champion, this scooter makes headlines.

  • 2007  - Confirmation that TGB is heading in the direction comes as the Blade 400 receives the 'Quad of the Year' award by the French magazine 'Quad Magazine'.

  • 2009 - New attractive four-wheeled models with larger TGB Blade 500 engines are coming to the market, and quickly become the best-selling quad bike in France and Germany

  • 2010 - The TGB Blade 550 IRS is awarded the 'Quad of the Year' award and the title of 'Commercial Quad of the Year 2010" in the Czech Republic.

  • 2011 - The TGB Blade 550 becomes the best-selling quad bike in the Czech Republic

  • 2013 - TGB Quads receive an electronically controlled injection. With this development in modern technology, the TGB quads are becoming more user-friendly, with lower fuel consumption and higher engine power. The Quad of the Year 2013 is awarded to the best TGB quad bike in the 300-550cc class.

  • 2014 - TGB develops its own advanced electronic power steering and incorporates it into a wide range of its models. The EPS (Electronic Power Steering) has greatly contributed to increased maneuverability, safer riding and easier control of the TGB quads. At the same time, TGB has again proved that quality and advanced technologies do not have to cost a lot of money. Power steering models have further strengthened TGB's position on the market and have attracted new customers from across Europe.

  • 2015 - The TGB 1000 models, the TGB flagship and a quad bike with the largest engine in the Taiwanese provenance are introduced this year. The top-of-the-line TGB 1000 has once again shifted the performance and controllability of TGB quads

  • 2016 - TGB appoints Dualways Ltd. as their official UK & Ireland distributor for TGB ATV's
